Smooth-Away Hair Remover Review

Smooth-Away Hair Remover Review

I am sure everyone has seen the infomercial about Smooth Away by now and has wondered if it truely worked and was it worth the price. I had the same question, and didn’t really want to spend the money to find out I didn’t like it or it didn’t work.

Well, I am a member of FuelMyBlog and was asked if I would like to test any products. I said yes, I would. I love trying out new products! Then about a month or so later I received an email telling me that I was chosen to do a review of Smooth Away.

I thought WOW! I get to find out if it works for free! lol When my daughter found out she was jealous a bit. lol She wanted to try it out too!

Before I start this review I would like all of you to know that this review was suppose to be done in February, but when it came in the mail, it was put away and I couldn’t find it when I wanted to use it. I was getting ready for a yard sale, and had family (hubby) problems at the time. I finally found and used it in 2 months later. This is also a completely free review, this is NOT a monitized review.

A good review means I really liked it, not because I tried the product for free or was paid to do the review. With that said, on to the review.

First steps to using Smooth Away are to have clean skin, no lotions, etc, and your unwanted hair should be no more than 1/4″ long.

My kit came with everything you see below:

1 Large Paddle
1 Small Paddle
4 Micro-crystalline replacement pads for each
1 Carrying Case
everything fit nicely into the lime green case.

My kit also came with Hair Inhibitor Moisturizer, that does not fit in the case.

The large pads are recommended that you use them for legs and arms and the small pads are to be used for your face, fingers and toes.

This product retails for $9.99 and is available at CVS, Rite Aid, Sally Beauty, Walgreens, Walmart, and other fine retailers.

For more information on these products and to purchase please visit the Smooth Away website here.

I used this product in my bedroom, sitting on the bed while watching tv. I used the large paddle and the large pad. The pads come like a big sticker, you peel the backing off of the pad and stick it to the paddle.

The instructions say to go in a clockwise motion, do three circles, then do three circles in a counter clockwise motion. I had to do this several times to get a clear area. It took me a while to get all the hair off my leg, not like using a razor and getting done in about 10 minutes.

Note: Going too fast will make your leg feel like it’s burning though.

After about 10 minutes of this, I felt my legs and they were very smooth, however, it did not get all the long soft hairs. They were still there.

When using this product you really need to use both touch and sight to make sure you get all the hair, because while your legs may feel smooth you could have missed some of the hair like I did. I used the product another 5 minutes on that leg just to make sure I had removed all the hair. To do one entire leg took 15-20 minutes!

Note: If your let hair isn’t too long, 1 pad will work for both legs! Mine did.

It says while using this product your skin will appear white or gray, that is from the exfoliating that you are doing as well as removing your hair. My legs were definitely white, lol! The last step you do is apply the hair growth inhibitor lotion.

What I liked:
I was able to use this in the bedroom while watching tv, no water required.
How easy it was to use.
The lotion didn’t stink! A plesant scent of coconut.
How smooth my legs felt when I was finished.
The price seems pretty affordable.

What I didn’t like:
My hand was a little tired by the time I was done with the first leg.
Takes longer than shaving or using Nair.

I think this is a good product to have along with razors. I could see using this for a quick shave, without having to jump in the shower first.

I would recommend this product for you ladies.

Note: I have used this product on my wedding day 5/22/09 (morning), had the same results with it and I am NOT ready to throw out my razors!

If anyone has tried this product I would really love to hear what you think of it.
Do any of you think you might try this out?
And lastly, what did you think of my product review?
Did I leave anything out that you would like to know?

Please let me know, I look forward to reading your comments :)
