My goal for 2009 started the last week of January, my goal is to only spend $75 or less per week at the grocery store and to use that extra savings to grow our emergency fund to six months worth of living expenses.
For 2 weeks I spent $178 versus a budget of $150. That made our budget over by $28.
I wasn’t too successful, but we bought a butane tank for our grill, not budgeted for, making us go over budget!!
So that’s over budget by $14 each week! Nothing saved, but at least it wasn’t outrageously over.
That’s my progress. How are you doing with your goals?
