If you are receiving unwanted telemarketing phone calls, you should add your phone number (including your cell phone number) to the National DO NOT CALL Registry list!  It takes about 3 weeks for your phone number to be added to the list.  If after you are added to the Do NOT call list, you continue to get phone calls, you should file a complaint on the Do NOT call registry site!

Have you ever received a phone call not only from a phone number you did not know, but a phone number that meant trouble on the other end? Yes, I’m talking about Phone Scams! Well, I did this morning and after thinking about it all day, I decided to write a post about it so others would know what to do in that situation and not panic.

At 7:53 am this morning, the phone rang, now I don’t answer my phone for numbers I don’t know, but I was aggravated because it wasn’t even 8am and a number with an out of state area code was calling.  I get phone calls every now and then from recordings or from people trying to make me happy by telling me I won a “FREE” trip! So I answered,  the guy was heavy accented and wanted to speak with my husband.  I replied no you can’t speak with him, what’s this about.  The guy got rude and wanted my husbands attorney information! That threw up a red flag and I knew right then this was a scam!

I told him I would not give him any such information and that we didn’t owe anything!  He said  “US Cash Advance”, had 3 leans on him, well, I knew that was wrong, and I told him well, if we owe, send us something by mail!  He got angry, and told me my husbands last 4 of his social security number and that he would call my husbands job and had the name of his work (not his boss’ name) and threatened that he was going to make him loose his job and that I would be in trouble.  I told him “BE MY GUESS!”

Now, I have dealt with companies before, but never one that could tell me my husbands, last 4 social security numbers or his work name!  I got on the internet, and I found out that they are calling several people and harassing them for money! So, I called the FBI as one of the posters from the site did!  YEP you red that right, and they told me it’s a Nigerian Ring!  It’s a scam and all they want is for you to be scared and send them money! 

I was told that if they contact me again to tell them that I contacted the FBI.  I was also told to keep an eye on my husbands credit report and bank account and if anything out of the ordinary is there, report it to the fraud department.

These guys thought they were calling some little old man or some one that doesn’t know the ropes and scares easily!  My husband doesn’t deal with the bills, he lets me deal with everything, because I don’t take crap! (Thanks dad!)

So if you get phone calls like this, DO THE FOLLOWING!

1. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY!!  I can’t stress this enough!  THIS IS A SCAM!!
2. If it is a legitamite debt, have them MAIL you a copy of the debt! THEY WON’T, but tell them too anyway!
3. Call the FBI or the BBB with any information you have (phone number, names, etc)
4. If you feel threatened, call the police and make a report!
5. Keep an eye on your credit report!  If anything is out of the ordinary, report it to fraud!
6. Keep an eye on your bank account as well

I doubt they have access to bank accounts, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry!

How to KEEP TRACK OF DEALS in Facebooks New TIMELINE
#1. First, ALWAYS make sure you are looking at POSTS BY PAGE. We’ve highlighted in yellow below where you will want to change this from HIGHLIGHTS to POSTS BY PAGE! This will ensure that you are seeing the most recent posts.

#2. We post 8 – 10 deals a day EASILY, so after you click on POSTS BY PAGE, after you scroll down, you may still need to click on SEE MORE RECENT STORIES. This is after the first batch of posts. You may also need to click on this more than once to see ALL the deals for the day, if there are plenty!

How to KEEP US IN YOUR NEWS FEED!
With all the changes to Facebook recently things are coming and going like crazy in everybody’s news feed. The fact is that Facebook will be changing everyone and everything over to timeline so we’re all going to have to get used to it (even if we’re not crazy about it). Below are the steps to make sure you don’t miss us from your news feed or miss another great deal, freebie, or coupon!

• Go to your ‘HOME’ page. On the left hand side you will see the word ‘LISTS’. Hover your mouse over that area and you will see the word ‘MORE’ click it.
• This will bring you to a page with all of the ‘LISTS’ Facebook has created for you. In the upper right hand corner you will see ‘+ Create List’ click it.
• This will bring up a box that asks you to create a name for your list. Once you’ve named your list a new box will appear so that you can add to your lists.
• Click the word ‘FRIENDS’ in the box and it will bring up PAGES. You can now go through and add whatever pages you would like to your list.
• When you’re done and go back to your Home page you’ll see your new list show up on the left side of your wall. When you click it will give you a News Feed of what is on your list.
• Also, you can make sure you never miss another post by signing up for e-mail alerts by going HERE and entering your email address!
