Winterize Your Home for Savings...

While it may not be time to pull out the heavy wool sweaters just yet, it is a good time to start thinking about winterizing your home; and a good place to start is with the insulation. Do you have enough insulation in your home?

When moving into a new dwelling.
Get 2 boxes of those "roach hotels". Open the package and split them apart so they are individual. Then, using a yard stick or broom handle, etc, push them under the refrigerator and you will never have roaches. Roaches breed mostly in dark spots and under the refrigerator is most most prevalent place for them.

Put a couple cans of coffee grounds (not brewed) in a room with a foul smell. This saved my freezer that had unplugged while we were away and came back to a bunch of spoiled meat.

Store clean silver in washed cotton, acid-free tissue or other bags specially designed to protect silver (these can be found at hardware and home improvement stores). They really do the job.

Mark objects with red polish to: Note levels for measuring amounts in buckets or cups. Indicate a light switch that should be left on. Show the line-up of arrows on childproof medicine bottles.
